Slightly behind clothing websites, Amazon finally offers a sustainability label for 25,000 products in grocery, household, fashion, beauty and electronics. His program Climate Pledge Friendly is backed by 18 trusted third-party certifications, as well as its own called Compact by design.
A label to watch with attention
For the consumer, this will mean that the distinguished mark has at least one certification. Not enough to blindly trust the product’s eco-design either.
It only needs to have been designed to be as compact as possible for it to enter the selection. They will therefore have to be examined on a case-by-case basis. A special “Climate Pledge Friendly” logo will be displayed and these products will be collected in a special section.
Amazon took a long time to make efforts regarding global warming. Since the health crisis, its environmental impact risk has increased because its sales have exploded. The American giant must absolutely succeed in containing its greenhouse gas emissions if it is to achieve carbon neutrality by 2040 as he promised, especially under pressure from his employees.
