While the new smartphone Apple iPhone 12 will be delivered without charger, the manufacturer Anker offers a new version of its PowerPort III Nano.
This ultra compact USB Type-C charger (30 x 28 x 28 mm without plug) now offers a power of 20 W, against 18 W for the previous version. It has two operating modes: 5 V (up to 3 A) and 9 V (up to 2.22 A). According to Anker, it charges an iPhone 11 three times faster than the original 5W charger. It is however too early to know its performance with the iPhone 12.
The charger benefits from GaN (gallium nitride) semiconductors, which are more efficient than silicon circuits. In addition, Power IQ 3.0 technology offers excellent compatibility with existing fast charging systems, including Power Delivery and Quick Charge 3.0. However, the device is delivered without cable.
The PowerPort III Nano has just been put on sale for 19.99 euros, against 25 euros for the official 20W charger from Apple.
