Canal + continues to evolve. Rather than waiting for a film to air on its antenna and then offering it in replay, the company is reversing its habits. From now on, five new films will be available every Friday.

Subscribers will be able to binge-watcher them all weekend long, without waiting for their broadcast during the following week. The festivities will begin this Friday, September 18 with a first batch including in particular Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker.

SVOD rather than replay

The company therefore continues to evolve MyCanal into a straightforward streaming platform, rather than a simple replay service for its channel. It is also used to distribute many services, even competitors, whether they are BeIn Sports or Disney +.

In the September Ultra High show broadcast on 01TV, Frank Cadoret, CEO of Canal + France, explained that the question of continuing to be broadcast on TNT now arose. Only 400,000 subscribers now watch the channel in this way, out of more than 8 million customers.
