At the launch of the Pixel 4a, Google also announced its intention to offer it a 5G model coming out, just like the next Pixel 5, this autumn. We would therefore have to be patient before seeing what the next Pixel devices look like. It was without counting on the leaks!
Spotted on Reddit by our colleagues of 9to5Google, a posted photo shows two Google Pixel devices, from the back. It is mentioned that these are the next two Pixels, and we discover that the photo part consists of two camera modules (against only one on the current Pixel 4a), a flash and probably a ToF or laser sensor. Also on the back, we can also see the fingerprint reader.
Make no mistake: the larger of the two visible models would not be the Pixel 5 but the Pixel 4a 5G, which would corroborate the rumors that the 5G version would, in fact, be a 4a XL according to the old nomenclature. Google.
A beefy processor behind 60Hz or 90Hz screens
Among the other technical details given on the forum, mention is made of the presence of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor on both devices. It would be supported by 6 GB of memory on the 4a 5G and by 8 GB on the Pixel 5. Their respective batteries would offer capacities of 3800 mAh and 4000 mAh.
No precise screen diagonal provided by the author of the supposed leak, although some extrapolations made from the snapshot suggest 6.1 or 6.2 inches for the 4a 5G. This large screen would be refreshed to 60 Hz while that of the 5, smaller, would benefit from a panel at 90 Hz which could explain the presence of a more muscular battery in its case.
