Huawei opens up HarmonyOS to all hardware makers to try and compete with Android

HarmonyOS 2.0 will be available for all manufacturers. This is the strategy finally announced by Huawei on September 10 at its developer conference. Any brand can therefore adopt Android’s competing operating system, even though it is a rival of Huawei.

An initiative above all for Chinese brands

The Chinese’s strategy is obviously to open up to as many people as possible in order to quickly gain market share from Android. The operating system will also be available on a wide variety of devices: watches, televisions, appliances, etc.

For the moment, it seems unrealistic for a manufacturer to respond positively to the proposal of its competitor Huawei. But this would provide an alternative to other Chinese manufacturers who could be subject to the same restrictions as him by the United States.
