Paintball is a healthy extreme sport that almost anyone can play. Which is much rarer than most people realize; there are relatively few sports that include everyone.
The sports and university teams of the clubs exclude far too many people. And it can be depressing to hear “you didn’t make the team” over and over again. And for many people, sports teams have consistently given them coldness. This is especially true in high school for many people. And constant rejection can only lead to absolute misery. Well that’s not good, but there is a cure ….. Paintball.
Ok, it doesn’t have to be paintball, I mean, there are other sports for everyone. All that matters is that YOU can get involved in a sport that will be friendly to you, instead of putting you on the curb. Paintball promotes social skills, analytical skills, and is incredibly healthy for you.
In order to work as a team, you need to engage your teammates and develop a strategy. Not only is it great fun, but it will also allow you to connect with other like-minded people and encourage creative thought processes. And on top of all that, you’ll be burning a fair amount of calories and improving your cardiovascular system at the same time. Don’t believe me, go to your local paintball field. A disproportionate number of paintball players are in very good shape and enjoying the benefits of paintball. Some sports, like American football, cannot say the same thing. Although all football players are athletes, some linemen are not particularly healthy. And in fact, linemen are often encouraged to have bad eating habits.
Plus, you won’t have to worry about paintball injuries … some club sports can be absolutely devastating for your body. For example, many football players sustain serious injuries. And some of them can seem quite tragic. I once had a broken bone from football. Yeah, that’s right, a bone fracture !!! And yes, it hurts as much as it seems. Paintball is incredibly safe if you use the proper safety precautions. This page provides paintball injury statistics for an average paintball season. What you will find is that paintball injuries are incredibly rarer than injuries from other sports.
And if you pay a visit to your local paintball field, you’ll notice that not only will you be accepted, no questions asked. The paintball community will be GLAD as you join them. Unlike most sports, there is no limit to the number of players who can play. Club sports have fixed positions, so once the positions are filled, he is “a road buddy”. Which is insulting because the people who hit the road are the inferior players. Which makes sense, if you’re forced to fire a player, why would you kick a better player.
But the problem with club sports exclusion limits is that lower level players are singled out. Not only are they inferior, but everyone KNOWS they are because they are being forced off the playing field.
Well, they won’t force you to leave the paintball fields. As far as we’re concerned, the more the merrier. Sure, you might lose most of your paintball matches when you first start playing, but since you are ALWAYS allowed to play, there is room for improvement. In many sports clubs, the players continue to be inferior because they don’t have playing time. The best way to improve your skills in any sport is through real playing experience. But if you can’t play, you really can’t get the experience you need.
Well with paintball we would like you to play as much as you want, and in fact we will join you. So unlike other sports, how you progress and develop as a player is entirely in your control.
The only common complaint about paintball is that it is overpriced for most people. Well, that’s not necessarily true, it’s really expensive, of course, if you buy all the best paintball gear. But you don’t have to, and especially as a beginner. All you need to get started is a relatively inexpensive CO2 paintball tank and paintball gun. All you really need to shell out for your first paintball package is around $ 150. Which will provide you with more than enough gear to get you started on your gaming experience. A co2 paintball tank costs only around $ 15, and a cheap, but quality paintball gun can be found for around $ 100. Add in various other gear related items, and you’ve run around $ 150. Which, yes, is a lot of money for a lot of people.
But how much would you spend on club sports? Club sports are often much more expensive than $ 150. I used to play hockey back then, and for equipment and entrance fees I was spending around $ 800 per season. And I wasn’t even an extreme example, a lot of hockey athletes spend way over $ 800.
If you want a fun and healthy extreme sport that is open to everyone, paintball is a great option. Come hit the fields today, we will be more than happy to welcome you!
