The battery iPhone 12 Pro Max is indeed less powerful than that of its predecessor. The latest very high-end model from Apple is equipped with a 3,867 mAh battery, compared to 3,969 for iPhone 11 Pro Max ; or a reduction of 7%.
This information was provided by Apple to the Chinese telecoms regulator TENAA. It is the equivalent of the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) which validates the compliance of electronic devices before they are placed on the market.
Chinese reports also confirm that the device boasts 6 GB of RAM, as some benchmarks published on the web already indicated.
15 minutes less for iPhone 12 Pro
While we have not yet tested the performance of the iPhone 12 Pro Max (it will be available for pre-order on November 6), we have however noticed a slight decrease in battery life in our iPhone 12 Pro test (5:46 p.m. in general-purpose use, compared to 6:01 p.m. for the iPhone 11 Pro).
The capacities of iPhone batteries are never detailed by Apple. It will therefore be necessary to wait for the first disassembling of devices to confirm this information from TENAA.
