In a televised address, Libyan Prime Minister Fayez al Sarraj on Wednesday announced his intention to step down from office by the end of October.

The Libyan Prime Minister, Fayez al Sarraj, expressed Wednesday, September 16 in a televised speech of his willingness to leave his post by the end of October.

Fayez al Sarraj heads the Libyan Government of National Accord (GEN), which sits in Tripoli and whose legitimacy is recognized by the international community, but contested by Marshal Haftar and his Libyan National Army (LNA), who seek to take Tripoli since spring 2019.
