The most interconnected city in the world would be Frankfurt. But Paris could soon move up to second, according to Telehouse. This company provides colocation in a data center. It announces the opening of a second data center in Paris, near Boulevard Voltaire, where its main site in France is already located, as reported by AFP.
Get closer to French users
Today, Paris would rank fourth or fifth in the world. A new location for colocation of data centers would provide an additional opportunity for all major Internet players, operators and providers of content and services to connect directly with each other. The advantage would be to reduce circuits and get closer to French users.
Telehouse has customers such as Amazon, Apple, Facebook, Netflix, Bouygues, Free, Orange and SFR *. He estimates that 54% of total French internet traffic is already passing through its Paris data centers.
