Here are the consensus bowl picks from the staff at SportGamble.us.

Tue 14 Dec

New Orleans Bowl

North Texas vs. South Mississippi

SG’s Pick: North Texas

If the So. Miss defense can prevent Jamario Thomas from adding to his garish stats, they should be able to keep this one close.

7:30 p.m.

Tue 21 Dec

Sports Bowl Field

Georgia Tech vs. Syracuse

SG’s Choice: Georgia Tech

7:45 p.m.

Wednesday 22 December

GMAC bowl

Memphis vs. Bowling Green

SG’s choice: Bowling Green

I want to choose Memphis to win this battle, but the Falcon’s attack, 4th in the country, will simply win out over Memphis no matter how well he plays.

20:00

Thursday 23 December

PlainsCapital Fort Worth Bowl

Cincinnati vs. Marshall

SG’s Pick: Marshall

Marshall showed up to play in big games this year. I consider a bowl game to be a “big” game, don’t I?

6.30 p.m.

Las Vegas Bowl

Wyoming vs. UCLA

SG’s Choice: UCLA

UCLA should burn Wyoming with its passing and running game. Although Wyoming is playing in their first bowling game in 11 years … it’s certainly motivating.

9:45 p.m.

Friday 24 December

Hawaii Bowl

UAB vs. Hawaii

SG’s Pick: Hawaii

All-time NCAA leader should have a hay day against this no-show UAB defense

7:00 p.m.

Mon 27 Dec

MPC Computer Bowl

Fresno State vs 18 Virginia

SG’s choice: Virginie

Fresno State has failed to play with the Big Dogs this season and Virginia is on the cusp of becoming.

2:00 p.m.

Motor City Bowl

Toledo vs Connecticut

SG’s choice: Toledo

Connecticut have a soccer team? Well that’s what we would have said last season but they have a QB that can tear the secondary up. You probably haven’t heard of him, but NFL scouts know him very well. Connecticut has a chance if they capture the mood they had when they met Pittsburgh earlier this year.

5:30 p.m.

Tue 28 Dec

Independence Bowl

Iowa State vs Miami (Ohio)

SG’s Choice: State of Iowa

Iowa State’s explosive offense will give Miami everything they want … plus some.

6.30 p.m.

Insight bowl

Oregon State vs Notre Dame

SG’s choice: Notre Dame

Notre Dame will fight to defend Tyrone Willingham. Oh, did we mention it was a really good football team?

9:45 p.m.

Wed 29 Dec

Houston bowl

Texas-El Paso vs. Colorado

SG’s Pick: Texas-El Paso

Jordan Carson (does his name sound familiar?) Will finally have the chance to show off his talent on national television. Colorado is still wondering what happened in the Big 12 Championship …

4.30 p.m.

Alamo bowl

24 Ohio State vs. Oklahoma State

SG Choice: Ohio State

The state of Oklahoma is no stranger to big games. Unfortunately, they haven’t learned how to win them.

20:00

Thursday, December 30

Continental Tire Cup

25 Boston College vs North Carolina

SG’s Choice: Boston College

North Carolina has a lack of “big game” experience while Boston College has the “secret to success” to winning bowl games, they have 4 game winning streak.

1:00 p.m.

Emerald bowl

New Mexico vs Navy

SG’s choice: Marine

Did we say Navy? It is true! These guys finally learned to play football.

4.30 p.m.

Holiday bowl

4 California vs. 23 Texas Tech

SG’s Choice: California

Cal will punish Texas Tech for being kicked out of the BCS scene.

20:00

Silicon Valley Bowl

Troy vs Northern Illinois

SG’s Pick: Northern Illinois

Troy has never been to a bowling game and they aren’t ready to win one either. N. Illinois has a ground attack that will outperform this Troy defense.

11:00 p.m.

Fri 31 December

Music City Bowl

Alabama vs. Minnesota

SG’s Pick: Alabama

It’s not because we love the SEC. Minnesota does not play at home …

12h00

Sun Bowl

Purdue vs. 21 Arizona State

SG’s Pick: Purdue

Arizona State comes in with their second string QB that Purdue’s young but damn good defense should contain. Expect Purdue to light up the scoreboard in this one!

2:00 p.m.

Liberty bowl

10 Boise State vs. 7 Louisville

SG’s choice: Louisville

It might be the bowl game of the year. If you like fast attacks and aggressive scores, this game is for you! Vegas is going to explode with “total points” bets on this one.

3:30 p.m.

14 Miami (FLA.) Vs. 20 Florida

Fishing bowl

SG’s choice: Florida

If Chris Leak (Gators) isn’t the best QB in the country, he will be. When the Gators are running on all cylinders, I was picking them to beat anyone in the country. Keep an eye out for this one as it should pay off!

7:30 p.m.

Sat January 1

Cotton bowl

15 Tennessee vs. 22 Texas A&M

SG’s Pick: Tennessee

The Vols simply ran out of time in the SEC Championship. I suspect they will pick up where they left off. Neither team “should” be here, so this will definitely be one of the best games to watch.

11:00

Outback Bowl

16 Wisconsin goes 8 Georgia

SG’s choice: Georgia

Wisconsin can play offensive. GA’s quick defense will stop the race and force Wisconsin to pitch, leading to too many mistakes to overcome. Georgia wins.

11:00

Gator bowl

17 Florida State goes West Virginia

SG’s Choice: Florida State

Florida State left the loss to Florida behind. Bowden’s ability to dominate bowl games has a “W” written all over it.

12:30 p.m.

Capital One Bowl

11 Iowa vs. 12 LSU

Choice of SG: LSU (restrictions apply …)

LSU is young but has managed to find its way to a good bowling game this year. If LSU’s defense can keep the score tight, they can pull it off.

1:00 p.m.

Rose bowl

13 Michigan vs. 6 Texas

SG’s Choice: Texas

If Mack can convince his players that they are as good as he is, the Texas nations coaches will defeat a strong Michigan team.

4.30 p.m.

Fiesta bowl

5 Utah vs. 19 Pittsburgh

SG’s Pick: Utah

Pittsburgh slipped out the back door to win the Big East, but I’m afraid Utah will show Pitt what it’s like to play with the Big Boys.

8:30 p.m.

Mon Jan 3

Sugar

3 Auburn vs. 9 Virginia Tech

SG’s Pick: Auburn

Auburn is expected to play for the national title. Look for Auburn to win big for the slight possibility of splitting the title.

20:00

Tue January 4

Orange bowl

1 Southern California vs 2 Oklahoma

SG’s Choice: Oklahoma

This should go down in the last quarter. Oklahoma should win with endurance.
