While most of us were asleep, Twitter suffered a major outage that left the posting service inaccessible. The blackout started just before midnight and ended around 1:30 a.m.
According to the company, the origin of this failure was not malicious, but came from “A system change made earlier than expected, affecting most of our servers”, can we read in a official tweet.
French night owls were also affected by this blackout, as can be seen in the messages posted with the hashtag “twitterdown”. In particular, some “power users” of the microblogging service have had the unpleasant experience of seeing all of the drafts suddenly disappear. Now everything is working normally. Phew.
