The video is only 10 seconds long, but for the first time it shows the LG Wing smartphone in use. This dual-screen model differs from traditional folding smartphones because it does not open. The secondary display rotates to position 90 degrees from the primary display.
In the video, the primary screen is for GPS navigation while the secondary screen is used for listening to music and taking calls. An original concept of a rotating screen that LG already had implemented in the 2000s.
According to Android Authority, the device on the video would be a near final version. The smartphone would have a 6.8-inch main screen, a 4-inch secondary screen and a 765 or 765G processor. On the other hand, we do not yet know the thickness of the device, which may have its importance, nor the level of robustness of the rotation mechanism.
If the concept is rather fun, we will have to wait for the official announcement and especially the price to know if the LG Wing has a chance of being adopted by users.
