The big stimulus package for the auto industry seems to be paying off. And for good reason, with the possibility of benefiting from a boost of up to 19,000 euros, some households rushed a car change they were considering later in the year. As expected, this aid mainly benefited so-called clean cars, primarily electric. Indeed, the industry had its best month in terms of registrations in June. With 9,967 registrations, July also confirms the craze for zero emission vehicles. This figure represents 5.5% of new passenger vehicle sales (compared to 5.8% in June).
PHEV in good shape
It will undoubtedly be necessary to wait for the beginning of September, and the publication of the Avere France barometer, to know the details of these registrations but once is not customary it is the Renault Zoe which leads sales with more than a third of registrations recorded (3834 to be exact).
On the other hand, the big news compared to the trends observed before confinement is the excellent health of the plug-in hybrid car. Indeed, with nearly 7,000 vehicles registered, the PHEV reached a penetration rate of 3.9%, its highest ever.
