With its Mi 10 range, Xiaomi has raised the prices. The Chinese brand has gone upmarket in the hope of competing with big companies like Samsung and Huawei. Tested by 01net.com, we liked these two devices… without really impressing us. In our opinion, they lacked a “little extra something” to justify their prices.
With its Mi 10 Ultra, Xiaomi could soon make us change our minds. This device appears to have been designed to become the ultimate Android smartphone.
A zoom x120
After the x50 zoom at Huawei, the x60 zoom at Oppo and the x100 zoom at Samsung, make way for the x120 zoom. A promotional image of the Mi 10 Ultra reveals its imposing quadruple camera module on which the zoom coefficient is inscribed. The Mi 10 Ultra will be able to go up to x120 (i.e. a total magnification of x240 from the ultra wide angle), an absolute record. We just have to hope that the quality is there, which is not won (beyond x50, few smartphones are doing really well. The Huawei P40 Pro + is a exception).
A camera under the screen?
Another rumor, the Mi 10 Ultra could be the first smartphone equipped with a camera under the screen. Ross Young of DisplaySearch, known for his good predictions, understands that Xiaomi could be the first manufacturer in the market to adopt this innovative technology.
It will likely be the first phone with an under panel camera. But volume will be (shockingly) small … 🙂 Mostly a demo product from what I hear.

We are still cautious, Ross Young himself indicates doubting his information. The quantities would be so low today that Xiaomi could wait for the Mi 11 of 2021.
Finally, recharging would also be in the spotlight with this Mi 10 Ultra. Chinese sources speak of 100W wired and 55W wireless, which would allow Xiaomi to break speed records. Oppo, with its 125W recharge, is the only one able to resist it. It is not yet known when the device will be announced.
